UK Management Consultants Survey Snapshot 2008 UK Management Consultants Survey Snapshot 2008

Picture of UK Management Consultants Survey Snapshot 2008

The 2008 Snapshot Survey of Management Consulting companies looks at trends in the industry. Data used has been extracted from the audited accounts filed at Companies House. A broad cross-section of companies have been chosen, with turnovers ranging from £1 million to £1.6 billion. The survey does not in any way determine or purport to show which companies are the biggest or the best. It is designed to provide industry statistics and data that can be used in benchmarking.

The benchmarked annual results of each company are compared both numerically and graphically with earlier years and with the results for the survey overall. This provides an invaluable insight into the performance of each company and of the industry overall.

The snapshot survey includes enhanced coloured graphs and rankings. This should assist those less comfortable with number crunching in interpreting the data and makes an excellent addition for those wishing to use extracts from the data in reports. All we ask is that our copyright on the survey is respected and that we are credited where data is used.

Company graphs show:

  • Gross margin as a % of turnover
  • Pre-tax profit as a % of turnover
  • Pre-tax profit as a % of gross margin
  • Average pay cost
  • Gross margin per person
  • Gross margin per £ of pay costs
  • Gross margin per company as a proportion of the survey overall
  • Gross margin compared to the survey average

Rankings are enhanced with the addition of colour and also feature the key operating efficiency rankings of pre-tax profit as a % of gross margin and debtor days.

The survey is an invaluable tool for business planning and comparing your own company’s results with those of competitors and the industry. Are you missing out on pricing decisions? Are your staff less productive? How can you squeeze more margin through to the all important bottom line?
